Private 30 Minute Horseback Riding Lesson

Private Lessons are available for those adults who have never ridden or intermediate/advanced riders who wish to work on specific aspects of riding. Gentle stretching routines and stress reduction exercises are done both on and off the horse, and immediate biofeedback from the horse can help you grow.

Children ages 6 and up may also ride in private lessons. These lessons center around games that develop physical and mental skills as well as fostering high self-esteem.

English or Western Riding can be the focus. Beginners through advanced riders can learn while enjoying a horseback ride in beautiful Kauai.

Whether your goal is to get comfortable enough to go on a trail ride, to advance to 'A level' competition, or simply to try something new, come have fun while you grow! Both adults and children (from ages 8 up) are welcome.

Using teaching techniques developed in part by the American Riding Instructors Association, our instructors introduce and reinforce knowledge of handling a horse from the ground and while mounted. Although our instructors are not currently certified by TTEAM or Centered Riding, these approaches are utilized. Lessons emphasize fun, safety, a balanced seat, communication with your horse, and personal growth, whether in a Western, Hunt Seat or Dressage saddle.

Guests will learn basic horsemanship skills and preparation for jumping, dressage, or gymkhana, on horses and Welsh ponies. A certified riding instructor is available, and handicapped riders can be accommodated.

The 30 Minute Private Lesson is designed specifically for guests with special needs when it comes to instruction.

Directions:
From Lihue or the South Side (Poipu, etc.): From Highway 56 (Kuhio Highway) turn on Highway 580 (Kuamoo Road). Go 2.7 Miles. Turn Righ on Highway 581 (Kamalu Road). Go 1.6 Miles to the end of Kamalu Road. Turn Left on Olohena Road. Go 1.5 Miles. Turn Right on Kualapa Place. Go to the end of Kualapa Place. Drive down the driveway on the left in LOW GEAR.

From North End of Kapaa: Take Highway 581 (Kukui Street). Go straight through the round-about, the road name changes to Olohena Road but stays Highway 581. Go past the school on the left, Olohena Road dips to the left at Triple Fork. Remain on Olohena Road for 3.5 Miles; Highway 581 will turn left onto Kamalu Road, stay straight on Olohena Road. Go another 1.5 miles. Turn Right on Kualapa Place. Go to the end of Kualapa Place. Drive down the driveway on the left in LOW GEAR.

From North of Kapaa (Anahola, Princeville, etc.): From Highway 56 (Kuhio Highway), turn right on Mailihuna Road (just at south end of Kealia Beach). Go 0.5 mile. Turn right on Kawaihau Road. Go 3.5 miles. Turn Lef on Kainahola Road (Look for Growing Greens Plant Nursery on the right just before it). Go 1 mile on twisting road, it will end in a forced Left turning onto Olohena Road. Go one block. Turn Left onto Kualapa Place. Go the end of Kualapa Place. Drive down the driveway on the left in LOW GEAR.

This tour must be booked at least 24 hours in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12- 24 hours subject to availability.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge for NO SHOWS. No Shows on tour dates are charged 100%. Some specific tours and activities have a higher cancellation fee due to the limited space available.

Recommended for this Activity: Long pants and socks are required (available for rent at a nominal charge), extra layer of warm clothing, hats, visors and sunglasses. Riding Boots and Helmets are provided at no extra charge.

Weather: Tour route or activity may be changed depending on local weather conditions.

Bottled Water is Included. Meals, Gratuities and Souvenirs are not included.
